Designed by Mario Marenco in 1970, Marenco remains a defining presence in contemporary interiors more than five decades after its introduction. Arflex itself highlights the design's distinctive identity and wide modularity as qualities that continue to make Marenco a staple of contemporary furniture. Defined by its soft, rounded forms and generous volumes, the Marenco system sofa creates an inviting architectural presence without sacrificing flexibility. Individual seating elements can be used to develop configurations suited to different spaces, from refined residential living rooms to larger hospitality environments. The official Arflex collection includes sofas, one-arm units, armless units, corner elements, island elements, armchairs, and poufs. The character of Marenco comes from the balance between visual softness and modular composition. Its substantial cushions give the design a relaxed, unmistakable silhouette, while the extensive selection of elements makes it possible to create anything from a straightforward sofa arrangement to a much larger sectional composition.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; Rather than behaving like a conventional fixed sofa, its broad family of modular elements lets the composition respond to the architecture of the room. Its rounded volumes introduce warmth and softness into minimalist spaces, while the extensive upholstery offering allows the design to move from understated and tonal to richly tactile or expressive. For collectors of authentic Italian design, Marenco also has a clearly documented heritage: Arflex identifies the design as a Mario Marenco creation from 1970 and continues to present it within its contemporary collection.
