Originally designed in 1947, the desk embodies Ponti's visionary approach to modern living, combining sculptural elegance, technical innovation, and practical functionality in a remarkably light and balanced form. Reintroduced by Molteni&C as part of the prestigious Heritage Collection, the D.847.1 Desk has been faithfully reproduced using original archive materials in collaboration with the Gio Ponti Archives. Its distinctive curved desktop, inspired by the profile of an airplane wing, transforms an everyday writing desk into a timeless piece of functional art. Elegant, sophisticated, and unmistakably Italian, the D.847.1 remains a perfect addition to contemporary home offices, executive studies, luxury living spaces, and design-focused interiors.

Made in Italy
Usually ships within 6-8 weeks
Free Shipping (USA & Canada)

Materials & Finish

Structure

Solid ash wood construction

Honey-stained ash finish

Precision-crafted woodworking techniques

Rounded drawer front detail

Traditional wooden drawer runners

Desktop

Solid ash edging

Ash veneer surface

Curved profile inspired by aircraft wing design

Smooth hand-finished detailing

Feet

Satin brass feet

Protective floor glides

Elegant architectural detailing

Finish Options

Honey-stained ash wood

Satin brass accents

Dimensions

Overall Dimensions

Width: 134 cm (52.8")

Depth: 40 cm (15.7")

Height: 78.5 cm (30.9")

Ideal Placement

Perfect for:

Luxury home offices

Executive studies

Contemporary living rooms

Bedrooms

Reading areas

Designer residences

Boutique hospitality suites

Architectural interiors

Collector-focused spaces

Functionality

The D.847.1 was created to provide a refined workspace without sacrificing elegance.
