Design & Materials
The 9000 collection is based on a modular concept that allows multiple seating configurations to be created from a coordinated family of elements. Arflex lists an armchair, two sofa sizes, a one-armrest unit, an armless unit, a corner unit, a curved element, and a pouf within the system. For the 9000 NV 05 Modular Sofa, the structure combines metal and poplar plywood, with elastic strap springing incorporated into the backrest and armrests. Black lacquered metal feet are completed with protective black nylon glides. Arflex currently lists numerous fabric possibilities for the 9000 collection, including viscose bouclé, chenille, cotton bouclé, linen and cotton blends, recycled wool textures, polyester velvet, and wool textiles. The result is a modular sofa system that can be visually adapted through upholstery while preserving the distinctive rounded geometry of Tito Agnoli's original concept.
