The Arflex Botolo Low Chair, designed by Cini Boeri in 1973, is a distinctive low-profile upholstered chair that reflects an unconventional approach to seating. The original Botolo concept allowed the height of the legs to be selected according to use: the High version could function as a dining chair, while the Low version expressed what Arflex describes as the then-modern idea of “living at a low level.” Compact and visually expressive, the Low version combines a rounded upholstered seat and backrest with four cylindrical legs. Integrated casters in the legs allow the chair to be moved more easily. With its extremely low 9.8-inch seat height, Botolo Low Chair has proportions that clearly distinguish it from a conventional dining chair and from the taller Botolo High configuration.
