The Hug Love Seat High Version, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Arflex in 2014, is a distinctive high-back love seat inspired by the welcoming gesture of an embrace. Its defining open-arm silhouette expresses the central idea behind the Hug collection, creating an inviting and immediately recognizable upholstered form. The High Version develops this concept through a tall 103 cm backrest, giving the compact two-seat design a strong vertical presence. Measuring 148 cm wide and 86 cm deep, it combines relatively contained dimensions with the enveloping proportions of a high-back sofa.The internal structure and base are metal, with elastic straps supporting the seat. Both the seat and backrest are upholstered with moulded polyurethane foam and polyester covering. The high-back configuration also incorporates a dedicated headrest cushion made with polyurethane and polyester covering. Solid wood details introduce a refined material contrast and are available in Canaletto walnut, wengé, oak, or chocolate-painted finishes. The metal base is available in black or graphite lacquer, with additional listed finishes including burnished, white, birch RAL 1013, and Forest RAL 6016. The Hug Love Seat High Version can be upholstered in fabric or leather. Fabric upholstery is fully removable, while the leather version is excluded from the removable-cover specification.
