The Grex Mirror, designed by Silvano Pierdonà, is a modular and sculptural mirror system that moves beyond simple reflection into the realm of wall art. Characterized by its "surrealist" aesthetic and layered geometry, Grex Mirror is designed to create a dynamic visual impact through the use of overlapping shapes and varied depths. The defining feature of the Grex collection is the "rounded lower side" of the mirror panels. This elongated, drop-like shape gives the mirrors an organic, almost liquid appearance on the wall. Grex is designed to be used individually or as a "composition." In multi-panel configurations, the mirrors overlap and are spaced at different distances from the wall, creating a sophisticated 3D architectural effect. Each mirror is encased in a slim frame with a distinctive cylindrical section. This rounded frame adds a subtle industrial jewelry feel to the piece. For overlapping compositions, Capod’opera uses special black lacquered honeycomb spacer panels. This ensures the mirrors are securely held at different planes, creating intriguing shadows and reflections between the glass layers.
