The Diagonal Mirror, designed by Alessio Bassan for the Italian high-end brand Capod’opera, is a contemporary piece that transforms a simple household object into a geometric work of art. True to its name, the mirror is defined by a sharp oblique cut that splits the reflective surface into two perfect, complementary triangles. This design creates a sophisticated visual tension by utilizing two different tones of glass within a single frame, making it look more like a minimalist painting than a standard mirror. The reflection is split between Grey (Smoked) glass and Bronze glass, offering a classic color palette with a modern, architectural twist. A deep, slim profile frame made of matt black lacquered metal. The frame's depth creates a shadow box effect on the wall. The back panel is designed with holes on all four sides, allowing it to be hung in different orientations to change the direction of the "diagonal" line. It also features a specialized hooking system for height adjustment during assembly.
