Following the same geometric logic as the armchair, the Florence Schust Knoll FL 22 Sofa (Three-Seater Sofa) is a study in proportion. Created by Florence Schust Knoll as part of her "total design" approach, this sofa was intended to define space rather than just occupy it. It serves as the perfect mid-sized anchor for living rooms, lobbies, or executive suites. The Florence Schust Knoll FL 23 Sofa maintains the exact depth and height of the armchair, ensuring a seamless visual line when the two pieces are placed together. While the exterior is a rigid rectangle, the internal cushioning is engineered for a firm yet supportive sit, ideal for both formal meetings and relaxed lounging. Built with a solid wood inner frame and a heavy-gauge steel perimeter base, the sofa is designed to prevent sagging or "leaning" over decades of use. The upholstery features hand-tufted squares. In high-quality versions, this is achieved through individual fabric panels sewn together to ensure the "grid" never shifts. The recessed steel legs are joined by a mitered frame, creating a continuous "box" of metal that reinforces the sofa's architectural silhouette.
