The curvature at the apex provides resistance to a light and thin body, while a magnetic element allows the complete rotation of the diffuser. The Bird Floor Lamp grows and becomes a reading lamp. As stated by designer Jordi Pla: "I wanted the product to amaze with proportions and elegance, but also simplicity. The Bird Floor Lamp is, in fact, based on a thin metal rod that supports a magnetic sphere. The latter allows a total rotation of a simple spotlight with an integrated LED. The dynamism, freedom, and anti-gravity typical of birds eventually became the characteristics of Bird.
