Drawing inspiration from the intricate geometry and striking colors of exotic arthropods, the Biba Hanging Lamp by Kenneth Cobonpue is a hypnotic fusion of organic structure and sculptural art. Suspended like an ethereal creature in mid-air, its tall, slender silhouette filters light through hand-woven vines to cast warm, dramatic shadows across any room. Mimics the slender forms and vibrant tones of spiders and insects, translating nature's raw micro-geometry into modern lighting design. Crafted using natural rattan vines that are carefully hand-dyed and intricately tied onto a rigid metal framework. Features bold black, deep orange, and warm yellow hues that give the fixture its distinctive, lively personality. Equipped with an inner fiber-reinforced polymer diffuser that softens the glow, transforming this Biba Hanging Lamp in a functional light into ambient, textured art.

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETH COBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
