The Japanese word "awa" refers to a bubble of air trapped in a liquid. The Awa pendant lamp was designed with the idea of soft glass that holds its shape after being inflated. The goal is to create the illusion of a glowing ball of air that appears to float gently in space when viewed from below. An interesting aspect of this project is that the wooden and metal parts seem to be made of glass, giving the impression of caps that prevent air from escaping. A new version of the pendant lamp was recently added to the collection, featuring frosted glass in the upper half.
