The KAI O Hanging Lamp explores a stunning, disciplined harmony between clean architectural lines and natural warmth. Celebrated for bringing a sense of serene, meditative luxury to high-end interiors, this fixture captures Kenneth Cobonpue's signature ability to make rustic materials look incredibly sleek, tailored, and modern. The defining element of the KAI O Hanging Lamp is its brilliant double-layered construction. The outer shell is a drum cage composed of hundreds of perfectly parallel, hand-bound natural fibers or polymer strands meticulously stretched over a minimalist steel framework. This clean, geometric outer frame serves to beautifully encase an inner fabric shade. When the lamp is switched on, the inner cylinder glows with a deep, golden radiance. The light must pass through the dense, linear spacing of the outer cage, which diffuses the glow and casts micro-shadows across the surrounding room. This rhythmic play of light and structure creates an atmosphere of sophisticated calm, reminiscent of high-end luxury resorts. The inner core provides a soft, glare-free illumination, while the linear spacing of the outer cage transforms the light into a rich, textured ambiance. Every strand is carefully aligned and bound by hand, demanding an immense level of patience and structural discipline from the artisan. The pure cylindrical geometry allows it to seamlessly anchor open layouts without visually cluttering the line of sight. Available in materials designed to suit the mood of the room, adding a raw yet deeply polished tactile quality to minimalist and contemporary designs.

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETH COBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
