Moving away from the flat surface of his "Mirring" carpets, the Bozo Vase brings Ruhs’ signature primitive-modernist aesthetic into a three-dimensional, sculptural form. The name "Bozo" alludes to a sense of playful character, and the vase itself feels more like a living totem than a simple vessel. Kris Ruhs utilizes organic, hand-sculpted textures that contrast with the industrial perfection of typical plastic molding. It features a series of stacked, rounded volumes and "eye" motifs that make the vase appear to be watching the room with a curious, friendly gaze. Its height and rhythmic, vertical stacking give it the appearance of an ancient artifact reimagined for the 21st century. The surface is intentionally tactile, retaining the "fingerprint" feel of a handmade clay original. While designed as a vase for large floral arrangements or dried branches, it is frequently used as a standalone floor sculpture. Available in stark black or white, it emphasizes shadow and light, making the geometric "eyes" pop.
