The Hover Sofa, designed by the legendary Karim Rashid for Riluc, is a striking intersection of "Op Art" and functional luxury. True to Rashid’s "sensual minimalism," this piece challenges the viewer's perception of space and weight, appearing as an "impossible object" that floats within its own frame. The Hover Sofa is designed to create a subconscious sense of multidimensionality. Its most defining characteristic is the visual gap between the seating component and the ground. The leather seating element is suspended within a high-polish frame, creating an optical illusion that the user is hovering in mid-air. The interior of the stainless steel structure is mirrored, reflecting the underside of the seat—often finished in vibrant "neon" leather—to create a luminescent glow that suggests the form extends into an infinite, imperceptible space. Combines the industrial coldness of hand-polished stainless steel with the organic warmth of genuine high-grade leather. Features fluid, ergonomic curves that reject traditional rigid furniture Riluc’s decades of expertise in metal transformation to achieve seamless joins and a flawless mirror finish. The "secret" colored underside of the seat interacts with the mirrored base to cast a soft, ambient light onto the floor, making it a centerpiece even in low lighting.
