The Maddy Armchair, designed by Patrick Norguet for the Italian brand Alias is a centerpiece of a modular upholstered system. It was designed with a focus on "essential comfort," stripping away the traditional bulk of a sofa to reveal a clean, architectural structure. The Maddy collection is defined by its "exoskeleton" design—a visible tubular frame that supports the plush, quilted seating. It blends the minimalist philosophy of Alias with an inviting, enveloping aesthetic. A powder-coated steel frame (available in textured or gloss finishes) acts as the base. An ABS tray is attached to this frame to hold the internal polystyrene structure and supporting springs. The Maddy armchair features high-quality quilted covers available in fabric, leather, or eco-leather. True to modern design principles, the armchair is designed to be fully disassembled at the end of its life cycle for easier recycling. While it functions as a standalone armchair, its modular nature (available as central or end units) allows it to be integrated into larger sofa configurations.
