While it appears to be crafted from heavy crystal, it is actually made of high-quality transparent or mass-dyed thermoplastic technopolymer. Yoshioka used complex modeling to vary the thickness of the material, ensuring that the light is fractured and cast in a kaleidoscopic pattern across the room. The textured surface creates a rich tapestry of reflections, providing both functional illumination and a decorative light show. The shimmering orb is perched atop a slender, weighted steel pedestal, allowing the "planet" to remain the visual focal point.
