The Blow suspension lamp is defined by its name: it looks like a delicate, shimmering bubble suspended in mid-air. It is the antithesis of the heavy, industrial fixtures of its era. The transparent methacrylate diffuser is so clear that the internal components appear to hover. This creates a sense of airiness that makes even small rooms feel more expansive. At its heart lies a methacrylate or metal cylinder that houses the light source, diffusing the glow softly across the outer shell without harsh glare. The chrome-plated or white metal supports are kept intentionally slim to ensure the focus remains entirely on the translucent globe. The Blow is a masterclass in subtraction. By removing the opacity of traditional lampshades, Martinelli Luce created a piece that provides 360-degree ambient light while maintaining a "quiet" visual footprint.
