Bringing the airy, dreamlike beauty of a drifting cumulus cloud indoors, the Cloud Suspension Lamp by Kenneth Cobonpue is a masterpiece of ethereal lighting. Floating weightlessly in mid-air, this lamp is not just a light fixture—it is a tactile, sculptural installation that transforms any room into a serene, atmospheric sanctuary. The Cloud Suspension Lamp is a beautiful study in organic, asymmetric forms. To capture the soft, billowy volume of real clouds, Cobonpue utilizes a highly innovative combination of everyday and luxury materials. A delicate steel wire frame acts as the structural skeleton, over which a specialized gossamer-thin cotton fiber is intricately hand-sculpted. By manipulating the fiber density, artisans create natural-looking folds, ridges, and hollows across the lamp’s surface. When illuminated from within, the cotton fibers diffuse the light beautifully, radiating a warm, textured glow that mimics the sun filtering through a soft afternoon cloud.

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETH COBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
