The Cross armchair was designed by architect Marcello Cuneo in 1974 for Arflex. The seat was created from a simple yet ingenious idea: two tubes bent into a U shape were connected to each other by a light alloy joint. The seat and back cushions are supported by the two structures, which are covered with thick fabric that also has a load-bearing function. The supporting structure can be made of hide, fabric, or leather. The architect received a special mention at the XII Compasso d’oro in 1979 for this intuitive design. The metal structure and the seat and back cushions are made of goose down and covered with down-proof fabric. This armchair is perfect for furnishing residential and commercial spaces.
