Arflex acquired Roberto Menghi’s series of armchairs called Hall in the late 1950s. These designs were not exclusively for the elite, as the rise of other magazines and specialized exhibitions made design accessible to wider audiences. The armchair Hall was awarded an honorable mention for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 1959. The frame and armrests of the armchair and sofa are made of metal and covered in shaped polyurethane foam, while the base is made of wood and comes in various colors from the Arflex collection.
