The Isla Coffee Table, designed by the world-renowned "Rattan’s First Virtuoso" Kenneth Cobonpue, is a stunning masterclass in organic modernism. It captures the serene beauty of an archipelago, bringing a piece of the natural shoreline into the living space. Inspired by the rhythmic beauty of pebble-strewn beaches and tropical island clusters, the Isla Coffee Table (meaning "island" in Spanish) is a celebration of soft contours and fluid forms. Instead of a singular, rigid surface, the table is composed of asymmetrical, rounded "islands" of varying heights and sizes, creating a landscape of functional surfaces. True to Cobonpue’s signature style, the Isla table blends traditional craftsmanship with high-end luxury materials: The table surfaces are often crafted from smooth, polished natural stone or marble, mimicking the look of water-worn river rocks. The structure is supported by hand-woven frames, frequently utilizing rattan, polyethylene, or specialized fibers. This texture provides a warm, tactile contrast to the cool, hard surface of the stone. Depending on the specific finish, the table often features a sculptural metal base or trim that adds a touch of industrial elegance. The multi-level design allows for a dynamic visual experience from every angle.

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETHCOBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
