The Marius&Marius 3 Seater Sofa by Mario Marenco for Arflex is an iconic Italian sofa design originally created in 1970. Arflex describes Marius&Marius as emblematic of an era when Italian design combined comfort, irony, and originality. Generous, welcoming, and immediately recognizable, the Marius&Marius 3 Seater Sofa is defined by substantial upholstered volumes framed by pronounced backrests and armrests. Its soft upholstery is complemented by visible stitching that remains faithful to the character of the original design. The 3 seater version extends this distinctive design language across a generous 95.2-inch width, creating a commanding sofa for contemporary living rooms, sophisticated lounge spaces, and design-focused interiors. Underneath its soft, expressive exterior is a carefully engineered structure. Current specifications list a metal and birch plywood structure, a frame in shaped differentiated-density polyurethane, elastic strap springing, and black lacquered metal feet. Fabric versions feature a fully removable cover, while the leather cover is not removable. The Arflex upholstery collection allows the Marius&Marius to take on very different personalities. Official options include viscose and cotton bouclé, chenille, recycled wool textures, mélange textiles, blended fabrics, linen/cotton canvas, nubuck, and full-grain leather.
