The Officina 2-Seater Sofa, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec is the smaller, more intimate sibling of the 3-seater. It retains the signature "hammered" forged iron frame but packages it into a compact footprint—perfect for high-end apartments, boutique offices, or as a secondary seating option in a larger lounge. The core of the Officina identity is the wrought iron structure. In an era of mass-produced, perfectly smooth steel, the Bouroullecs chose a path of "deliberate imperfection." The iron is heated and hammered by hand, giving the legs a tactile, "vibrating" surface that catches the light differently at every angle. Despite the heavy-duty material, the sofa looks incredibly light. The slim legs taper toward the floor, making the generous cushions look like they are floating in mid-air. At 151 cm wide, it fits into spaces where a full-sized sofa would feel overwhelming. It offers a "luxury lounge" experience without requiring a palatial living room. Many designers prefer using Officina's two 2-seaters facing each other rather than one massive 3-seater. This creates a more symmetrical, conversational layout that feels intimate and curated. The galvanized frame version is exceptionally hardy. While designed for indoor use, the material choice reflects a "buy it once, keep it forever" philosophy.
