Steeped in the nostalgic charm of a bygone era, the Parchment Armchair is a poetic masterpiece by design icon Kenneth Cobonpue. Reimagining the historic art of manuscript binding, this Parchment armchair transforms tactile history into high-end, contemporary luxury. It is a seat made for collectors, book lovers, and design enthusiasts alike. The Parchment Easy Armchair collection looks back to the early 19th-century Victorian era, a golden age for the art of bookbinding. Cobonpue captures the romance of leafing through an antique tome—where pages are heavy, rustic, and feather-edged. The chair's unique design mimics these aged ridges. By artfully folding and layering fabric, the armchair replicates the soft, organic creases of stacked parchment papers waiting to be bound. "A glimpse of this old world comes to life as we refashion the art of manuscript binding through layers of fabric..."

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETHCOBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
