Designed by Kenneth Cobonpue, the Yin & Yang L Sofa (Large Sofa) is a striking exploration of balance, contrast, and ancient philosophy translated into masterclass contemporary furniture. Rooted in the Asian concept of complementary opposites, this sofa dynamically pairs structural geometry with open, lightweight space. The Yin & Yang collection centers around a unique "box within a box" architectural weave. The Yin & Yang L sofa utilizes a rigid, geometric steel framework that is meticulously hand-woven with dark, structural bands. This solid, geometric outer shell (the structure) encapsulates soft, deeply plush interior cushions (the comfort), perfectly representing the harmony of hard and soft elements. The open, grid-like lattice structure gives the couch a sense of weightlessness. Instead of acting as a heavy visual block in a room, light flows directly through the framework, allowing the surrounding architecture and flooring to remain part of the visual landscape. The stark, crisp lines of the woven mesh frame create a beautiful tactile and visual contrast against the soft, organic lines of its thick, inviting upholstery.

General Information
After spending years abroad, Kenneth Cobonpue returned to Cebu, Philippines, in 1996 to take over his mother Betty's furniture design and manufacturing company. Betty, who is a designer and a Pratt graduate, founded the company. Kenneth realized that modern design could be reinvented using natural fibers and materials. He began creating the pieces that now make up the collection by blending locally sourced organic materials with innovative handmade production techniques. This offered an alternative to the Western definition of modern design. He pays tribute to the talent of craftsmen, which forms the basis of the designs produced by KENNETH COBONPUE today. The company produces high-end indoor and outdoor furniture and furnishings known for their artistic imprint and unique visual impact. All creations skillfully integrate nature, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative technologies.
